Snow!

Flagstaff Arizona

When you think of Arizona, snow is not the first image that comes to mind. Sweltering heat, deserts, cactus and phenomenal views would be the most likely impressions of this state. But at an elevation of 7,000 feet, Flagstaff is consistently 20 to 30 degrees cooler than Phoenix, 125 miles to south, and receives an average of 75 inches of snow per year! In the winter it becomes a rather typical western ski town. Flagstaff is the gateway to the San Francisco peaks, containing the 12,635 foot Mt Humphreys. It is also the gateway to the Grand Canyon, and it’s surrounded by several Native American reservations. There’s lots of great things about this southwestern city.
